This part of the History of the Tudors is going to show you all about Tudor Buildings.
The Tudors were quite renowned for the style of buildings that they created. This style can still be seen today. The civilian buildings were known for their beams and their black and white style. The exposed beams were a known style at the time as were chimneys. This was the first period in which chimneys could be seen at the top of the houses.
The buildings were typically made of wood and then filled with a type of plaster or brick.

The palaces that the monarchy lived in were very different to what the 'ordinary' people lived in!
The palaces were always very grand, and some are still around today. Typically the more important buildings in this period were made out of bricks, rather than plaster. This was to show wealth. Stone was very popular at the time as well so many Tudor buildings that were built when wood was scarce, can be seen to be made of stone.
