Mary I is the only child to have survived out of Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon's offspring. Mary had a lot of problems within her family and was the second heir after Edward to Henry.
After Edwards death, Mary found there was a plot to make Jane Grey Queen of England. Mary, however, found the plot out soon enough and was able to announce herself as the rightful Queen of England.
Mary died in 1558 and was shortly preceded by her sister, Elizabeth.
